Eva Longoria and her husband José Bastón are moving from Los Angeles to Spain, seeking a peaceful life where their son Santiago can be raised amidst “nature and beauty.”
The couple has dropped the asking price of their Beverly Hills mansion, eager to relocate to Spain. Longoria and Bastón have chosen to move away from the hectic life in Los Angeles to prevent their five-year-old son, Santiago, from being drawn into the Hollywood lifestyle.
The Daily Mail reports that prior to their move to Marbella, Spain, the “Desperate Housewives” actress and her spouse reduced the price of their Beverly Hills home from $22.8 million to $18.9 million.
A source informed the publication, “Eva and José are leaving Los Angeles permanently and have relisted their home for sale.” The source added: “They previously removed it from the market in June but put it back up for sale in February for $4 million less because they are ready to leave. They have already begun shipping their belongings to Spain, and they are committed to this decision.”
The insider also revealed that Longoria and Bastón “desire a life for their son where he is surrounded by nature and beauty, away from the Hollywood scene.”
“They plan to settle permanently in their Spanish home and are thrilled about the move. Eva has achieved everything she desired in Hollywood,” the source continued. In early 2023, Longoria and her husband bought a luxurious six-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion in Marbella.
Working with architect and interior designer Nicolás Escanez, they began renovations on the expansive 1,531-square-meter property, which includes an indoor pool, sauna, and a state-of-the-art home gym.
The “Devious Maid” star showcased her luxurious home to Hello magazine in January, sharing her deep affection for Marbella.
Reflecting on her initial visit to the city, she stated, “The first time I came to Marbella, twenty years ago, it was love at first sight. I told myself: ‘One day I’ll live here.'”
Excited about securing the perfect home, the 49-year-old praised her collaborator Escanez for finding the right property. She recounted: “Five years ago, I told Nico [Escanez], who knows the real estate market well: ‘Alert me when you find the right place.'”
She explained: “I looked at several places, but none felt right. Then, in early 2023, this house came up for sale. It needed some work but had the right size and location I wanted.”
“So, while I was in Barcelona for a film shoot, I took the opportunity and bought it the same day,” she added. In her conversation with Hello, Longoria openly discussed her concerns about Los Angeles, noting it’s “always bustling” and “not as glamorous as expected.”
She shared: “I’m either on set, in a meeting, or stuck in traffic… and there’s always traffic.”
Despite this, the actress recognized, “Both LA and Marbella are close to the ocean and enjoy great weather all year, but they’re otherwise worlds apart.”
“I have no fixed schedule here. My days are filled with activities I love – paddle tennis, the beach, lunch, drinks, socializing… they’re fully packed,” Longoria concluded.
Longoria’s ties to Spain are significant. She holds Spanish citizenship and was honored with the title of “Dame” in 2022 for her ancestral connections to Oviedo.
