MAGA supporter Elena Cardone, who created a GoFundMe page to assist Donald Trump in paying his $355 million fine, has confirmed that she is “currently in communication” with the former president’s team to ensure he accepts the cash raised.
Elena made this revelation in an update on the GoFundMe page, notifying 23,000+ MAGA donors that she is dedicated to making sure the over $1 million raised will get to Trump for his legal bills.
Donald Trump’s Team Is In Contact With Elena Cardone To Receive Funds
Following Trump’s costly legal verdict on Friday, February 16, the ex-president was slammed with a hefty fine of $355 million and barred from doing business in New York for the next three years.
Several MAGA supporters decried the verdict as unfair and criticized the justice system on social media. However, others took their support for Trump a step further by creating a GoFundMe to help raise the money the billionaire needs to pay his fine.
Elena Cardone, the wife of multi-millionaire estate mogul Grant Cardone, created the GoFundMe and asked MAGA supporters to “stand with” Trump in the face of what they believe to be an injustice done to the Republican presidential hopeful.
The GoFundMe page has so far exceeded the million-dollar milestone and presently sits at $1,304,259 million from over 23,000 donations.
In a recent update, Elena confirmed to her fellow MAGA supporters that she has gotten in touch with Trump’s team to ensure he receives the money raised in the fundraiser.
“Confirmation of Acceptance: We are currently in communication with President Donald Trump’s team to ensure that he can and will accept the funds raised,” Elena stated. “It’s crucial that we navigate this process carefully and legally, and we appreciate your patience as we work through these details.”
She added, “Purpose of the Funds: We want to be clear about the intended use of the funds raised. Every dollar will be used only to cover fines related to the New York civil fraud case, its appeal, and any related expenses.”
Donald Trump GoFundMe Is ‘More Than A Legal Fund’
In her call for action, Elena stated that the fund’s primary goal is to demonstrate support for Trump and other MAGA supporters.
“This is more than a legal fund; it’s a clarion call to all patriots to rally in defense of a man who has never hesitated to stand in defense of us,” she wrote.
Elena added, “It’s about showing that when one of us is targeted for championing the values that make America great, he does not stand alone. We stand with him, shoulder to shoulder, ready to support, defend, and fight back against a system that threatens to undermine the very foundations of our republic.”
Meanwhile, her husband backed her up on X, formerly Twitter. He slammed the “unjust” judgment and asked people to donate to the fund.
“Give something & DEMONSTRATE that the people of America are standing together against unjust rulings like this where a bias [sic] judges & corrupt legal system is out of control,” Grant wrote.
The real estate mogul added, “Any amount is welcomed & 100% of funds will be forwarded to Trump Org for his defense of this ridiculous judgment. If this ruling stands, everything you own is at risk.”
Although Elena now claims to be in “communication” with Trump’s team, the ex-president has yet to publicly acknowledge the existence of the GoFundMe launched on his behalf.
Donald Trump Ordered To Pay Full Bond Amount To Cover $454M Civil Fraud Trial Judgment
Amid MAGA’s attempt to support Trump, a New York appellate judge has denied his request to pay a $100 million bond while he appeals what he has described as an “unAmerican” $454 million civil fraud judgment.
According to reports, Trump had asked to pay $100 million, claiming that it would be impossible for him to raise money to cover the entire judgment due to him being banned from securing loans in New York banks. However, the New York State Attorney General, Letitia James, opposed Trump’s request, arguing that he must pay the complete bond to ensure the state gets its money in case the ex-president loses his appeal.
Judge Anil Singh of the state court’s Appellate Division ruled that Trump must post a complete bond and that his three-year ban from operating a corporation in New York still stands. Nonetheless, Judge Singh removed the restriction on Trump’s capacity to apply for loans from financial institutions in New York, potentially enabling him to use the equity in his assets to cover the entire bond amount.
A five-judge appellate panel will now review Singh’s temporary ruling to determine how much Trump needs to post in order to avoid paying the whole verdict while he files an appeal.
