Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are currently living separately while both are in Los Angeles, according to multiple sources.
The couple were seen together in public on Thursday, May 16, for the first time since March 30. However, a source close to Lopez, 54, tells us that Affleck, 51, has not been staying at their Los Angeles home. Instead, he is staying at one of their other properties while filming his movie The Accountant 2.
Representatives for Affleck and Lopez did not respond to requests for comment.
Lopez has been spending time in New York recently to film her movie Kiss of the Spider Woman, promote the Netflix film Atlas, and serve as a co-chair for the 2024 Met Gala, which she attended without Affleck. He recently attended the May 5 live Roast of Tom Brady solo between filming.
After their initial romance from 2002 to 2004, Lopez and Affleck rekindled their relationship in 2021 and married the following year.
Their August 2022 Georgia ceremony included their blended family: Max and Emme, Lopez’s 16-year-old twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, and Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, Affleck’s children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
A separate source told PEOPLE that Affleck and Lopez arrived separately at the May 16 event in support of their kids. Both were seen wearing their wedding rings as they left together, with photos showing Affleck picking up Lopez and Emme.
Lopez recently “liked” a March 19 post from a relationship advice account on Instagram that highlighted relationship red flags.
In the recent documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Affleck and Lopez discussed their rekindled relationship. Affleck said, “Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media.’ Then I realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s like marrying a boat captain and saying, ‘I don’t like the water.’”
He also mentioned that he and Lopez are “two people with different approaches trying to learn to compromise.”
