The latest information on the salaries of the Stranger Things cast has been disclosed, revealing Millie Bobby Brown as the highest earner among them.
Netflix’s acclaimed series Stranger Things is gearing up for its fifth and final season, commencing production in January. While an official release date is yet to be confirmed, anticipation is high.
In January 2023, it was announced that the leading cast members would receive significant pay increases for the show’s final installment, organized into different salary tiers. Millie Bobby Brown, the 20-year-old English actress portraying Eleven, emerged as the top earner, although her exact salary remains undisclosed, bundled within her broader Netflix agreement, which encompasses her role in Enola Holmes.
Following closely behind, Winona Ryder, 52, and David Harbour, 48, who portray Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper respectively, were reported as the second highest-paid actors. Both were said to command an impressive $9 million (£7.1 million) for their roles in the season.
Winona and David both received around $350,000 (£278,000) per episode in that season, which amounts to around $2.8million (£2.2million) in total.
The younger stars of the series are divided into lower salary tiers with smaller – though still sizeable – salaries for the final season.
Stranger Things captured the hearts of viewers when it debuted in 2016, introducing a host of child actors.
Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Gaten Matarrazo as Dustin Henderson and Noah Schnapp as Will Buyers joined Millie as the show’s focus group of friends when it first aired. Sadie Sink joined the group in season two as Maxine ‘Max’ Mayfield.
The group, who are all now in their early twenties, have reportedly also received an increased pay packet for filming the fifth season and are reportedly taking home $7million (£5.5million) each.
Completing the show’s main cast set to return for season five are the older siblings and their peers – Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington and Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley.
The outlet reported that this group of actors make up the lower salary tier – all being paid $6million (£4.8million) for filming season five.

The streaming platform took to social media on Monday to share a photograph of the cast and creators Matt and Ross Duffer back together again.
In the black-and-white snap, Finn Wolfhard – who plays Mike Wheeler – seemingly had a script on his lap as the cast and crew started shooting for season five.
A red light-up ‘5’ sign could be seen in the background as the cast reunited on set to film the final series of Stranger Things – with a release date yet to be confirmed.
Alongside the snap, Netflix wrote in a caption: ‘THIS IS A CODE RED! STRANGER THINGS 5 production has officially begun!!!’
But eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that Sadie Sink – who plays Max Mayfield in the show – was in the photo.
It confirmed her return to the cast after her character’s fate was left up in the air in a cliff hanger at the end of season four.
